Crestview Loft...
The Ultimate Racing Pigeon Rookery!
We’ve gathered the most meticulously edited collection of Van Hoves, Verheyens, and Vervoorts from around the world and brought them to Crestview Loft.
Louis Van Hove
Mr. Van Hove is one of the best short distance racers in Belgium history. He represented Belgium in the 1985 and 1987 Olympiads. Crestview Loft has owned and imported 21 original Van Hoves and we let the race basket tell us which families to keep. Our best are offspring of the “Raket” cock B92- 6427722 and “Blauwen 303" B93-6572303. Meticulously, we have chosen from early Van Hove imports and the best are down from 91 WAC 1739, grandson of two Olympiad pigeons, and “Bird of Paradise”, B89-2300108. Crestview Loft owns 8 direct offspring of 91 WAC 1739 and 6 sons and daughters of “Bird of Paradise” B 0108. Crossed on our Verheyens and Vervoorts, they have been our best racers and breeders.
Frans Verheyen
As you may know, Verheyen lives in the same town as Van Hove. They were friends and shared some of the same birds. Verheyen represented Belgium in 4 Olympiads. Crestview Loft has owned many direct Verheyen imports but has had the most success with the offspring of the “Rocket” B84-6529200 and “Topman” B92-6428006. The Rocket B 200 crossed on the early Van Hove import of C. Strange, B87-6712945 produced 93 WWC 3697 and 3698, both the dam of many good racers and breeders for Crestview Loft. The offspring of inbred 91WAC1739 on inbred Rocket B 200...Verheyen to Van Hove... have produced numerous Federation, Concourse, and Club race winners.
Flor Vervoort
In 2002 Crestview recognized the success of Vervoort in racing hens and the early development of all his birds. His “Fieneke 5000" B97-6162118 is described as “the best bird in history”. She is the descendant of the legendary “Olieman” raised by Van Hove and given to his good friend Jos. V.d. Veken. Crestview Loft has spared no cost in acquiring the offspring of Vervoort’s, De Shone, Bourgeske, Aske and Fieneke 5000 families. We’ve found that Frans Revermann and Jos.V.d Veken birds crossed in to Vervoorts produce strong racers and breeders. The Fieneke 5000 family race very well as YB’s and have proven very successful in the very popular one loft races in the U.S.
Crestview Loft is primarily a racing loft that flies with the very competitive Denton Invitational Racing Pigeon Club. We have found that crossing the families of Van Hove, Verheyen and Vervoort produce our best racers. We will raise 125 young birds and send out 50 more to one loft races. Because of our success and the many inquiries about our pigeons, we will raise a few late hatches to sell to the sport.
